Custom Creations by Gloria

My wonderful mother-in-law, Gloria, is extremely creative. She works with all recycled materials, drift wood, seaglass, and shells. She finds everything herself! If she is not in the water treasure hunting you can find her at her work bench creating.

Here are some of her creations over the past months. You can find her work in stores all over the island, though it flies off the shelves, in Kaimuki at Drift Boutique or on the North Shore at Kai Ku Hale.  She also takes special orders if you are interested contact me for more information.

A Seashell Mobile

What better present than one handcrafted? One made of all materials found at the sea!
I have had a slight obsession lately with hanging mobiles. The abundance of seaglass, shells, and drift wood made this DIY project perfect for a quick and easy birthday gift.
I started the project by gathering the supplies I needed.

 Then, with a very small drill bit, I added holes to the wood, shells, and seaglass. The pukas of course already had the perfect hole so no need to drill them.

Next is the fun part, arranging in whatever way you feel looks best! Pretty hard to screw this part up. Natural things just seem to come together naturally!

Tie some knots to secure your shells and voilà! A hanging ornament anyone would love!
