28 weeks: Maternity Style

Lazy Friday morning here in Hawaii Nei. Perfect time to take some pictures in beautiful Waiahole.
My belly is slowly getting rounder and my baby inside is ever so active. I have officially entered into my 3rd and final trimester and my feelings of fear have subsided and now all I can think about is how much I want to meet her, who she will look like, and what we will name her.  A week ago Dane's surfing accident couldn't have come at a more horrible time. But as the week progresses I am realizing what perfect timing it was and how we are able to be spending time together relaxing and getting our lives situated before the baby arrives.

A Seashell Mobile

What better present than one handcrafted? One made of all materials found at the sea!
I have had a slight obsession lately with hanging mobiles. The abundance of seaglass, shells, and drift wood made this DIY project perfect for a quick and easy birthday gift.
I started the project by gathering the supplies I needed.

Then, with a very small drill bit, I added holes to the wood, shells, and seaglass. The pukas of course already had the perfect hole so no need to drill them.

Next is the fun part, arranging in whatever way you feel looks best! Pretty hard to screw this part up. Natural things just seem to come together naturally!

Tie some knots to secure your shells and voilĂ ! A hanging ornament anyone would love!
