Alex: Before I go to bed I tuck her in... every night it is a different scene of her creatures with a different stack of books.
Juna: This child. I want to eat her up, she is so happy!

Halloween 2014

Scarecrow, Wicked Witch of the West, and the cutest little Dorothy.

Halloween this year was a blast! Alex did great with trick or treating but still can't quite say it so she would just say "Happy!" to everyone. She is very brave. At one of the scariest houses on our block we sat back and watched for awhile then I asked her if she wanted to go up and get candy, with no hesitations she nodded yes. She stayed up way past her bedtime enjoying all the kids running around and feeding off their energy. What a fun night and a fun neighborhood we have (our street was named one of the top San Diego trick or treat streets to hit up on Halloween by local news).

Alex's 1st Birthday Party

It was small and intimate but hopefully everyone had as much fun as Alex did! She really enjoyed being the center of attention, can't you tell? We are definitely thankful for this Hawaiian winter weather that enabled us to have this little shindig. We are also grateful for our good friends and family who were able to make it special. Thanks everyone!

Alex's 1st Birthday

My sweet baby girl is no longer a baby. She has officially turned 1 and is now a "toddler."

On her 1st birthday we celebrated by opening some presents in the morning, reading some books, going for a walk, taking a nap, making her birthday cake, reading some more books, and trying out some finger painting. When Dad got home from work we had dinner and then we celebrated by singing 'Happy Birthday to Alex' and letting her taste some sugar for the first time. As you can see she loved it!

She spent most of the day talking. I believe she was telling me about her journey she took one year ago, but who can really understand baby jabber?!? She seemed genuinely happy all day as if she knew it was her day. She is so smart. Throughout the day I would find myself starring at her. Admiring her. She has grown so fast and so much.

10 Months

It has taken so long for me to finally get this post out. Sorry, I have been so busy with taking pictures, working, and my mother visiting. Alex Marie is 10 months old now. She has started standing on her own. She walks with her little pink walker all by herself. She is the funniest little girl. Her laugh is contagious. The sweetest most innocent laugh I have ever heard! She loves to clap and feed herself.

We went to the pumpkin patch today with her Baba so here are some photos of our big 10 month old!

We got one photo of her standing up all by herself!

We had a great time at the Aloun Farms Pumpkin Patch in Kapolei. We scored some fun pumpkins, fed some stinky animals, and drank some fresh lemonade (it was so hot!). Now we are ready to celebrate Alex's first Halloween!

9 months

Alex Marie is 9 months old today. She is all over the place. She crawls, she can pull herself standing on just about anything, and she walks along the couch. I have a feeling she is going to start walking by herself very soon.

She has begun to mimic what Dane and I do. Today, I was saying "Hi!" to her from in the kitchen and she was saying "Hiiii. Hi, Hiiii." She waves hi and bye but sometimes she is a little fickle. Dane also taught her how to high-5. She gets the biggest grin on her face.

She is such a talker. And a lover. It is amazing to watch her little brain work and feat problems like a foot gap between her standing on the couch and her pink, walker toy behind her that she desperately wants to bang on.
